A strike by the nurses was avoided after the union and 14 Twin Cities hospitals agreed to a deal. The deal still needs approval by the union.

The Pi Press says another national convention could happen in Minnesota in 2012. The DNC says Minneapolis is a finalist for the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

The anti-abortion group, MCCL, cites an annual study on abortions and finds that teen abortions drop to the lowest level since the findings were recorded.

2010

The three DFL candidates for governor mixed it up on TPT last night. Matt Entenza and Margaret Anderson Kelliher criticized Dayton for going too far on raising income taxes on Minnesota's top earners. Dayton challenged them to specify what they would cut to make up the budget gap. MPR, the Star Tribune, the Pi Press and AP have stories.

An Administrative Law Judge dismissed a GOP complaint against IP candidate Tom Horner.

Republican Tom Emmer talked with Morning Edition's Cathy Wurzer on Thursday.

His statewide tour also stopped in cities like Willmar and Moorhead.

Congress

Pawlenty for Prez Watch

Mitt Romney is spending freely on Republicans in New Hampshire. Tim Pawlenty is headed to the critical presidential primary state next week.

Finally
