DFL state Rep. Jeremy Kalin of North Branch announced that the White House has selected him to lead a White House working group of state legislators around the country on energy and climate change. In a news release, Kalin says he'll be "leading the working group over the next several months, working with White House senior staff, members of the Cabinet and other state legislators to infom the debate surrounding the American Clean Energy and Security Act (HR 2454)."

Congrats to Representative Kalin ... and to Governor Pawlenty.
Remember it was Pawlenty's wish when he teamed with Will Steger to publicize the rising temperatures at Lake Superior ... his goal at that time was to reduce gashouse emissions ... and his quote was "Maybe we can lead them [the federal government] or even shame them into action."
No shame necessary ... instead a Minnesotan will lead ... no doubt Governor Pawlenty must be pleased.
