The MPR piece on the science-denying gubernatorial candidates is worthy of a time capsule. Imagine the amazement of 22nd Century historians at this sort of mass delusion.

How do you get "Doctors ... say medical malpractice reform is not needed in Minnesota" from that article?
1) Dr. Hasti is not quoted as saying that medical malpractice reform is not needed in Minnesota. It is stated (without quotes) that she thinks things are better in Minnesota than in Connecticut, but that doesn't mean that reform is not needed here.
2) The article itself says that Dr. Peterson, the only other doctor quoted, "supports malpractice reform"!
3) The headline implies that at least most doctors in MN think that reform is not needed, but absolutely no evidence for that is provided.

A more accurate headline would say "One doctor doesn't directly comment on the need for malpractice reform, another thinks it is needed."

As for the lawyers (and I am one), asking a lawyer for his opinion on this is like asking an oil well owner for his opinion on global warming.

The letter to Coborn's employees is dishonest, and an attempt to scare its employees with layoffs. There is no "current federal legislation" that "promotes a huge shift from private sector coverage to government run health care."

The current proposals do not call for government-run health care. A public option is not government-run health care. It is government-run insurance, similar to Medicare.

I am surprised that the article by MPR does not reference this misrepresentation in the letter.
