President Obama is going to return the focus to financial regulation during a speech today on Wall Street.

Minnesota heard President Obama's pitch on health care. MPR, the Star Tribune, the Pi Press and AP have stories.

The Pi Press says Minnesota wants Obama to reward quality care.

President Obama met with the head of Mayo before he spoke on Saturday.

DFL Rep. Keith Ellison canceled an appearance before the Religion Newswriters Association to attend Obama's speech.

Obama also told 60 Minutes that the debate is coarsening.

GOP Rep. John Kline says President Obama should start from scratch on health care.

Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe, a Republican, opposes the public option.

Democrats in the White House and in Congress are also downplaying the public option.

Democratic leaning blogs say it's no coincidence that UnitedHealth Group is holding a fundraiser for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the same time that she's selling out on the public option.

Meanwhile, thousands rally in Washington D.C. to oppose President Obama.

DFL Rep. Tim Walz held a health care forum on Saturday.

GOP Rep. Erik Paulsen held a townhall on Friday night.

GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann also held a forum.

Bachmann also attended a TEA Party event and writes an op-ed on health care.

Pawlenty also campaigned in Florida.

The DFL Party hits Pawlenty on his statements regarding the health care debate.

GOP Rep. Jim Abeler compares Pawlenty go Jimmy Carter (in a not so nice way).

Finally

Good-bye Norman Borlaug. Fewer stomachs in the world grumble because of you.

Minnesota House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, DFL Minneapolis, will officially launch her campaign for governor Wednesday.

Her announcement is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on the Anderson Family farm near Mankato. Her media advisory says a picnic is also planned.

Kelliher filed campaign finance paperwork a month ago. She's served six terms in the Minnesota House, including two and a half years as speaker. Kelliher has repeatedly said she does not plan to step down as speaker while running for governor.

There are 10 other Democrats who've filed paperwork to run for governor, with more expected to join the field.
