Franken
Al Franken did a star turn on the Iron Range ahead of his swearing in tomorrow.
The Strib and PiPress had stories.
Politico weighs on in the Senate's Franken effect.
Congress
CQ Politics says Minnesota's 3rd District may see another "Brawl around the Mall" for 2010.
Keith Ellison was at the ribbon cutting for a "new large mosque" in...Boston. Arab News cites him as the only Muslim in Congress.
Local-bad-boy-gone-good David Carr took a long, loving look at Minnesota's recent politics, with an emphasis on Fraken, in the New York Times this weekend.
2012
Tim Pawlenty was a portrait of measured reaction to the resignation of Sarah Palin. MPR caught up with him in Aspen.
Other
Dirt begins to turn for the Central Corridor. Sort of. MPR and the Strib acknowledge.
I surprised that the Arab News does not know that As-Salam-Alaikum Br. Andre Carson was elected on Mar 12, 2008 to represent Indiana in Congress. He was re-elected in November.
Interesting piece on CD3. I agree that Paulson has not cross-overed as Ramstad did, but I do not know if this will affect him. The 2010 race will most likely hinge on the Stimulus bill ... since he voted against it, that may benefit him. Paulson had the advantage of hiding behind his fellow Republicans and realizing that Coleman lost his contest after his vote to support TARP. (Look at the polling and you will notice that Coleman lost 9 points ... enough fiscal conservatives opted to vote for Barkley costing Coleman big time.) Paulson knows that he has to maintain his base to get re-elected. Odds are in his favor.
