Gov. Tim Pawlenty is scheduled to release revisions to his budget proposal Tuesday. Pawlenty will be joined by Management and Budget Commissioner Tom Hanson at an afternoon news conference at the Capitol. Changes in the proposal were needed to reflect the latest state economic forecast and the state's share of the federal economic stimulus. The Republican governor released his original budget plan in January.
The feature examines statements made by Minnesota politicians and checks them for accuracy. Based on data analysis, document reviews and interviews with non-partisan analysts, statements are rated either true, false or inconclusive. PoliGraph is a collaboration between Minnesota Public Radio News and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
