Pawlenty's speech to CPAC

Posted at 9:31 AM on February 28, 2009 by Tom Scheck (1 Comments)

Gov. Pawlenty's speech to CPAC was pretty standard fare for those who have been paying close attention to our governor. He urged the conservative movement to stay enthusiastic. He also said conservatives need to do a better job of getting people into the Republican Party and ripped the growing national deficit.

You can listen to the audio of his speech here:

CPAC, let me guess..."Christian Politicians At Church"??? Or, was this the same CPAC conference where noted guests (Rush Limbaugh) has said on his radio show he hopes our President fails? I sure hope our Govenor was at this conference on his own vacation time!

As far as Pawlenty's speech, he mentions the ideals of education reform, which sounded like a case for school vouchers, but doesn't indicate what the poorest of the poor students left behind in the public schools are to do. It mentions the ideals of not having government making our health care decisions for us, but doesn't indicate what the poorest of the poor with NO health care are to do.

His ideologies, and those that he shares with his party will only widen the gap between the "haves" and the Have-Nots". It ignores the true tenet of most all benign religions...."that what you do unto the least of these you do unto me". Most of the time, however, the term "benign religion" would be an oxymoron.
