GOP Sen. Norm Coleman lashed back at Democrat Al Franken and his "Democratic allies" for an ad that he says "goes after his family." Coleman retaliated with an ad of his own that criticizes Franken.
The latest developments come after Coleman's name surfaced in a lawsuit that alleges that a long-time donor and friend of Coleman was trying to funnel money to Coleman through his wife's employer. Coleman flatly denied any wrongdoing.
Here's audio from Coleman's interview with reporters.
Franken held a news conference in St. Paul to react to Coleman's latest ad. He said Coleman's accusation that he is somehow behind the whole thing is ridiculous.
