McCain promises change

Republican John McCain promised to deliver change when he accepted the GOP nomination for president.

Question of the Day: What did you think of McCain's speech?

I thought there were some highlights, specifically when he discussed in detail about his POW experiences but for the most part it was pretty average.

I thought the delivery was fine but lacked specific ideas of how he would "change" Washington.

John McCain and his surrogates claimed he "got it right" on the surge, earning him good judgment merit points. This, however, is like praising the arsonist for throwing water on the fire.

Also, after watching the RNC, one is left with the distinct impression that the only true service to one's country is serving in the military. I beg to differ.

Last, if McCain is such a maverick, and so secure in his beliefs, why didn't he let Ron Paul speak at the convention? Compare this to how much attention the Clintons and their supporters received at the DNC. Whose tent is bigger now?
