The New York Times says Republican John McCain wasn't in his cone of silence.

The McCain campaign pushes back against a similar NBC story.

Politico says also McCain's pure evil response regarding two mentally disabled women who were blown up in Iraq has been questioned. Democrat Hillary Clinton also used the same story while she was on the campaign trail.

The Star Tribune takes a look at New Trier, MN which split its votes for President Bush and John Kerry in 2004.

Pawlenty for VP Watch

Governor Pawlenty is in Wisconsin today for a few local fundraisers. He'll also hold a news conference on energy in Madison and will visit the Waukesha County Victory Center.

Pawlenty appeared on Face the Nation yesterday. MPR, Forum Communications and the Pi Press have stories.

ABC and KARE wonder if the Pawlenty v. Bayh debate is a matchup to come.

The New York Times says Sunday morning was a "parade of hopefuls."

The Wall Street Journal says all of the VP candidates tread lightly.

Politico and CNN say Georgia dominated the discussion on all of the talk shows.

The American Spectator discussed internal polling among conservatives. Pawlenty is mentioned.

Fox News says time is running short to pick the running mates.

Politico says Obama should pick this week.

Republicans Brian Davis and Dick Day are ready to square off in the primary in Minnesota's 1st.. The winner will face DFL Rep. Tim Walz who touted his energy plan during a visit to Worthington.

The candidates in the 3rd debate on Thursday. Republican Erik Paulsen, DFLer Ashwin Madia and I-P candidate David Dillon will participate.

The GOP is skeptical of Nancy Pelosi's energy plan that includes drilling.
