Gov. Pawlenty started his Meet the Press appearance by talking about a potential hurricane that could disrupt Minnesota's big party.

He then had to defend Sarah Palin's credentials to be VP. A job he wanted.

UPDATE: Historian Doris Kearns Goodwin said one out of three vice-presidents eventually become president.
