Advocates for the poor want the state to hurry energy aid.
Congress
A new report says more inspectors should examine safety violations before they close if the FAA wants to prevent future safety problems with airlines. DFL Rep. Jim Oberstar is mentioned.

The L.A. Times says Obama and the DNC are toying with the idea of ending the convention a day earlier.
