Ron Paul's Revolution Convention

Politico and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report that Ron Paul is booking the U of M's Williams Arena for a "mini-convention" on September 2nd - the same time as the Republican National Convention.

A campaign spokesman for Ron Paul did not return calls.

A spokesman for Ron Paul said they're booking Williams Arena for a "Revolution Convention" on September 2nd - the same time as the Republican National Convention.

Paul campaign spokesman Jesse Benton said that they're holding the rally to send a message to the GOP.

"This rally, this revolution convention, is about being positive and it's about being active and being respectful and yet at the same time really sending a powerful message to the Republican Party that we strayed from our roots and our traditions and we need to get back to being the party of limited government."

An official with the University of Minnesota said Paul did place a hold on the arena for that day. He said a final contract has not yet been finalized.

The event coincides with the Republican National Convention and is just two days before John McCain accepts the GOP nomination for president. Ron Paul supporters have been urging GOP officials to give Paul a prime time speaking slot at the convention. Minnesota Republican Party Chair Ron Carey said he wasn't too concerned about the Paul rally.

"Most of his supporters will realize at the end of the day that it is going to be either John McCain or Barack Obama as president and the vast vast majority of Ron Paul supporters will be there for John McCain on November 4th. That's really all that matters at this point but we aren't going to lose a lot of time with this distraction. It's a good publicity event for Ron Paul and he's certainly entitled to do that if he wishes"

Carey added that the longer it takes for Republicans to unite behind McCain the greater the chance Barack Obama will be elected. Paul was not invited to speak in St. Paul because he refuses to endorse McCain, according to his campaign.

wow does Party Chair Carey have it WAY WRONG.
No Ron Paul Supporters are going to vote for
McCain .... about One Million and a half voted
for Ron Paul (probably more) double that most
likely would have had they had the chance to hear
him on the Media - anyway, there is also a petition
coming with at this date over 6,500 all stating
party affiliation and that they will only vote
Republican this year if Ron Paul is the nominee.
Plus all on petition also list who they would vote
for if RP is not the Republican nominee -
NO ONE lists McCain - it is either Write Ins or
3rd Party votes this year - GOP WAKE UP OR LOSE!
See you in Minneapolis Sept 2 with thousands upon
thousands of RP supporters - come join us!

Ron Carey is just spewing more bulls**t. Anybody who knows anything about the Revolution people knows they are loyal to PRINCIPALS, and that John McCain does not match those principals at all. Neither do any of the other candidates. Most of Ron Paul's people will write his name in if he is not the nominee, or vote for a third party. It's too bad that the Republican Party has not reached out to those who most fervently believe in all the Republican Party of old stood for. If the debates and state conventions had been fair and just, the revolutionaries would have been more likely to fall in line behind McCain if Ron Paul had not won. Sadly, the Republican Party has done it to themselves. McCain would never have won a Presidential election, anyway ... but will be a dismal and utter failure now for sure. We all just need to unite FOR AMERICA, be loyal TO AMERICA, instead of party being the end all. C'mon, Americans. We're losing our country and liberties.

Ron Paul supporters - what's your plan? Seems like if you're not voting McCain or Obama the options are:

1) stay home
2) write in Ron Paul
3) vote Bob Barr (Libertarian)

regardless of who becomes president, we need to shift our focus away from whatever new puppet is installed as by the Bilderberg NWO global-elite scum. They own McCain, Obama and the media.
So let us unite the clans - the 911 truth movement, the peace movement, Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), and disgusted, disgruntled US citizens and we'll educate the individuals we know in Law Enforcement and the military - clue them in and get them on our side! The soul-less scum in power cannot implement their evil agendas if the police and military aren't complicit in enforcing it and in oppressing we the people. We have good honest Americans in these agencies. Let's get them on the right side against the domestic enemies who have seized control and are destroying the US, killing global family and raping the planet.
