Pawlenty sure is busy

Posted at 2:48 PM on June 30, 2008 by Tom Scheck (2 Comments)

He's also appearing on Sean Hannity's radio show this afternoon.

UPDATE: Pawlenty just finished the interview and there wasn't much new there. He blasted away at Obama and praised McCain. He gave the standard response to the VP question and added the constant questioning can get "a little tiresome."

Meanwhile, Pat Buchanan said on MSNBC that the recent Quinnipiac poll damaged Pawlenty as a VP candidate:

"I think Gov. Pawlenty is receding as a Vice-Presidential nominee. If you're that far back in Minnesota, it's not that big and my guess is Mitt Romney begins to look a little better because he does have strength in Michigan. I think if I'm McCain, I'm looking at the big, industrial state strategy."

UPDATE:

Pawlenty was on Fox News this morning. Watch here.

Tom, I don't mean this to sound too snarky, but doesn't the governor have anything to do with the regular operations of the state? Or is he just fitting in that business around his schedule of other events?
On a somewhat separate issue, What role does he have in convention planning? I know that the state agencies and the local governments are in overdrive working on plans for the RNC, and I would be surprised if the governor didn't have anything at all to do with that.

Perhaps at one of these venues, Mr. Pawlenty can state clearly and finally that he should not be considered as a VP choice since he stated that he would serve his full term. If not, why not? Is it his intention to not serve his full term if he believes he is given a better offer?
