State lost 10,000 jobs in April

Those who were hoping for a quick economic turnaround are going to have to hope a little bit longer. The State Department of Employment and Economic Development reports that Minnesota lost 10,100 jobs in April. The most job losses came from tje construction industry, government, leisure and hospitality and manufacturing sectors.

The state's unemployment rate of 4.8% is still below the national unemployment rate of 5%.
