Another national post for Pawlenty

Posted at 1:46 PM on March 26, 2008 by Mike Mulcahy

Gov. Tim Pawlenty's office said today that the governor will become chairman of the Education Commission of the States summer. What's the Education Commission of the States, you ask?

Let's go to the press release:

ECS is an interstate compact created in 1965 to improve public education by facilitating the exchange of information, ideas and experiences among state policymakers and education leaders. As the only nonprofit, nonpartisan, nationwide organization involving key leaders from all levels of the education system, ECS creates unique opportunities to build partnerships, share information and promote the development of policy based on available research and strategies.

Got it?

The current chair is Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, who has also been mentioned as a possible running mate, but for Barack Obama, not John McCain.
