House passes transportation bill but still shy of override

The Minnesota House voted to pass a transportation funding bill 89 to 44 one vote shy of the 90 needed to override a gubernatorial veto. Six Republicans crossed party lines to vote for the bill. 2 DFLers voted against it:

DEMOCRATS VOTING NO John Lesch (St. Paul); Mary Ellen Otremba (Long Prairie) REPUBLICANS VOTING YES Jim Abeler (Anoka); Ron Erhardt (Edina); Rod Hamilton (Mountain Lake); Bud Heidgerken (Freeport); Neil Peterson (Bloomington); Kathy Tingelstad (Andover)

Why the heck would Lesch vote against it?

He would not comment after the vote so we don't know. Speaker Kelliher did pull him aside after the vote to talk to him.

Why the heck would Otremba vote against it? Oh, that's right, Otremba is a pathetic Republican in DFL clothing.
