Happy 2008. Take a deep breath because it will be a jam packed year. At some point, I think every politico/political reporter/etc. will feel like the folks in these pictures.

The Digest is headed to Iowa this morning so we'll start with that state.

Candidates are trying to turn out the vote in Iowa.

Politico says enthusiasm and money are lacking for the GOP.

No caucuses for those who work night jobs.

ABC wonders whether there is a McSurge for McCain?

DFL Rep. Betty McCollum introduced Barack Obama at a few events.

Ron Paul brings in a $20 million haul.

State Government

The Star Tribune had a good story over the holiday break asking whether the JOBZ tax breaks should be disclosed.

Congress

The Star Tribune says the war debate tempers DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar's first year.

She also kicks off a main street tour.

GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann sees success in Iraq.

DFL Rep. Jim Oberstar backs subsidies for rural airports.
