Former President Bill Clinton tops the digest today with his visit to Minneapolis to raise money for his wife Hillary's campaign. Question for the day--would Hillary (or any other of the current candidates) have done as good a job talking down the hecklers in the audience? Take your pick of coverage. MPR, the Star Tribune, the Pioneer Press and all the TV stations covered the fundraiser.

While Mr. Clinton was here, many of the other candidates' spouses were at a forum in California hosted by Maria Shriver. The Washington Post covered it.

And some are saying Barack Obama needs to pick it up if he wants to win the nomination.

The housing slump gets even worse.

And Stephen Colbert may run into some real trouble with his fake campaign.

State

The story everybody is talking about today doesn't really have anything to do with politics. It's about a man who died from rabies after being bitten by a bat.

Gov. Tom Pawlenty is scheduled to do a conference call from India with Minnesota reporters today. Unlike the days of Gov. Jesse Ventura, his trade mission isn't getting wall-to-wall coverage. But MPR and the Star Tribune report that he's making lots of connections.

A group of ordinary people and experts is deciding some of the details of the look of the new 35W bridge.

And Minneapolis is hoping other cities will love its water.

Finally

Did you get a good night's sleep last night? It could be more important than you think.
