Gov. Pawlenty and Adjutant General Larry Shellito announce that the Minnesota National Guard troops in Iraq will start coming home. KARE-11, MPR, the Star Tribune, WCCO, Forum Communications, the Pi Press and the AP have stories.

DFL Senator John Marty and the union want more information on why the health department didn't fully disclose health data on miners. Nine lawmakers (mostly from the Iron Range) are calling on Health Commissioner Diane Mandernach to resign because of the matter. Pawlenty's spokesman says Mandernach apologized but the governor will not ask her to resign.

A house panel votes to extend 2002 crop subsidies but it's not the final say.

2008

AP has a look at the DFL field looking to challenge GOP Sen. Norm Coleman and says none of them have served a day in political office.

A Survey USA poll says Norm Coleman's approval rating is at 48%.

Tom- you might want to highlight the new Survey USA poll showing Pawlenty's approval-disapproval rating at 51-45. The Governor seems to be taking a hit for his handling of the end of session.
