Gov. Pawlenty and Adjutant General Larry Shellito announce that the Minnesota National Guard troops in Iraq will start coming home. KARE-11, MPR, the Star Tribune, WCCO, Forum Communications, the Pi Press and the AP have stories.
DFL Senator John Marty and the union want more information on why the health department didn't fully disclose health data on miners. Nine lawmakers (mostly from the Iron Range) are calling on Health Commissioner Diane Mandernach to resign because of the matter. Pawlenty's spokesman says Mandernach apologized but the governor will not ask her to resign.
AP takes a look at the lobbyist spending reports from the last session.
3M wins a court ruling.
The Star Tribune picks up on a story that says a fired scientist says the state muzzled him.
Congress
U.S. Attorney Rachel Paulose makes some hires.
GOP Sen. Norm Coleman is encouraging Congress to adopt his stem cell proposal.
The Bush Administration promises flexibility when it comes to passports. Coleman is mentioned.
Coleman supports an increase in mileage standards but wonders how much and at what time.
DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar addresses the Orthodox Union's annual luncheon in Washington, D.C
GOP Rep. Jim Ramstad questions a plan that would compare the effectiveness of Medicare funded treatments.
Politico profiles DFL Rep. Keith Ellison.
Ellison also does an interview with "Baller Status."
GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann, a former foster mom, urges Congress to better educate the nation's foster children.
A house panel votes to extend 2002 crop subsidies but it's not the final say.
DFL Rep. Jim Oberstar is mentioned in this Star Tribune story on a neutrino detector.

AP has a look at the DFL field looking to challenge GOP Sen. Norm Coleman and says none of them have served a day in political office.
A Survey USA poll says Norm Coleman's approval rating is at 48%.

Tom- you might want to highlight the new Survey USA poll showing Pawlenty's approval-disapproval rating at 51-45. The Governor seems to be taking a hit for his handling of the end of session.
