Lawmakers went home for their Easter/Passover break but the rhetoric heats up.
The governor hits the airwaves with a radio ad criticizing the DFL budget priorities. The ad hits the air as DFL Senate Majority Leader hit the road to build support for their budget plan. The West Central Tribune, the Mankato Free Press, KARE-11 and KTTC have stories. AP has a write-up of what's next.

The Star Tribune says the state transportation building is falling apart.
A House committee moves the smoking ban bill through. The Strib and Forum Communications have stories.
DFL Rep. Joe Atkins wants to build ballfields for disabled kids.
The St. Cloud Times says the Minnesota House has given New Flyer a second chance.
MPR takes a look at the debate between atv, snowmobile and boat dealers and the manufacturers. The issue is spilling over into the Legislature.

DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar addresses global warming during a speech at the U of M. The Star Tribune and the Minnesota Daily have stories.
The New York Times says many lawmakers are going to Iraq but are coming back with the same mindset. Klobuchar is mentioned.
The L.A. Times (via the Myrtle Beach paper) says Congress is taking a look at credit card fees. GOP Sen. Norm Coleman is mentioned.
The Rochester Post Bulletin says DFL Rep. Tim Walz will meet with constituents over the Easter break. The paper also says he's been talking about ag policy.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dismisses criticism of her trip to Syria. DFL Rep. Keith Ellison made the trip with Pelosi.
DFL Rep. Collin Peterson talks about the farm bill in Renville.
He's also mentioned in this AP story that says there is a sunny outlook for the nation's wheat crops.
