The Minnesota House will meet in a brief session today and will then head home for a weeklong Easter recess. The Minnesota Senate finished their work on Saturday. The Senate passed an income tax increase. MPR, the Star Tribune, AP and the Pi Press have stories.

Senate DFLers say they kept the tax plan secret for a few months. If so, it was one of the worst kept secrets in Legislative history.

The Senate also votes to rename a stretch of highway for former Sen. Dallas Sams.

The Marshall Independent says DFL U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken is getting familiarized.

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader says Larry Sabato is thinking Pawlenty and Klobuchar are VP material.

The Pi Press says a late caucus means Minnesotans will have little say in the presidential race.
