Franken campaign says it's raised more than $1 million

The reporting deadline isn't until the middle of the month, but the Al Franken for Senate campaign says the DFLer has raised more than $1.3 million. Here's part of their announcement:

The [money was] raised from over 10,000 contributors from all 50 states and Washington, DC. In addition, the campaign enters the second quarter with over $1 million cash on hand. This total represents funds raised in the campaign's first 45 days after its February 14 launch.

"We're thrilled," said Communications Director Andy Barr. "We've known for some time now that people are excited about Al's candidacy, and our fundraising success confirms that. Our campaign is already in full swing, and we're incredibly grateful to our thousands of contributors for making that possible."

The campaign hasn't yet released a detailed list of donations.

DFLer Mike Ciresi tells MPR reporter Mark Zdechlik that his campaign is still in an exploratory phase, and he hasn't been raising money. A spokesman for Republican Norm Coleman's campaign says it doesn't have the Coleman numbers yet.
