Fantasy Legislature

Posted at 1:11 PM on December 26, 2006 by Bob Collins (10 Comments)

Fantasy League I (we really need to come up with a better name for the "division" than "I"), is now fully drafted. The results are here.

League II (ditto) is filling up and we should have no trouble having 20 teams in it by Wednesday. I'll draft that league as soon as I can.

At some point -- hopefully soon -- we'll have Web pages for every team and I'll get the scoring spreadsheet written one of these days. And there's a blog going up... somewhere.

More as it happens.

Oh come on Bob. ANOTHER blog? Just start up a diary for the league at MNCR. All the cool kids are doing it. Check out the comment thread going on right now!

As for names for the divisions, I recommend that each division choose an adjective for its name. So one division can be "The Awesome" and the other can be "The Superlative." The key here is to take ourselves as not-seriously as human possible.

Hmmm... looks like someone is itching for some traffic.

It seems natural the League be the Polinaut Fantasy Legislation League, the other league can be called... well... Fantasy League II has a nice ring to it.

Bob, thanks so much for all of your work although I fear you may have created a second job for yourself in the process.
BTW I'd have to agree to just start up a diary at MNCR as a simple method to keep things going. It would also save you a bit of extra work. Thanks again.

I have no problem with an existing blog location somewhere else. However, one of the original points of Fantasy Legislature is to create relevant commentary and analysis around it, that can be interesting to people who aren't managing teams too. That location -- for my purposes anyway -- really needs to be within the Fantasy Legislature space on MPR. It will also have links to any other blogs out there that may be monitoring.

The other thing I want to figure out soon is a method of communication between league members. I'm not particularly happy with the idea of publishing peoples' e-mail addresses, so I want to see if maybe Julia can create a mailform for each manager.

That way people can talk trade etc., out of public view.

All right, fair enough on MPR's part.

GML, you're going down.

I'm really having too much fun with this... I just finished another report card on the draft.

Hmmm to the forms [tapping my teeth] Well, that's actually a good idea, Bob. It certainly would clear up a few roadblocks.

To all: FWIW Publishing people's emails wouldn't happen. I'm not into posting people's email addresses for multiple reasons, from the company's privacy policy to my own personal rants on the subject.

And good morning, all!

Thank you Julia... your concerns for our well-being is greatly appreciated.

In this case the best I can do is a happy medium, but as long as it works for the league managers what more can I ask for?

I cannot wait! This is so cool.

I saw you on Fox News sunday am and I'm wondering if there is going to be a New England franchise in the FFL? What a concept, good going.
