More Hatch

I just walked into the MPR building and there was Mike Hatch along with a group of hacks...I mean, reporters.... doing a little question-and-answer thing.

I only heard the end of Midmorning, and I'm assuming Kerri got into this with him but I'll have to go back and listen.

Hatch says he didn't call the reporter in the incident described below -- a "him," by the way -- a "whore." He says he called him a "hack," and had previously offered to get Judi Dutcher on the phone to answer his questions.

(Update: By the way, it's an unforgiveable sin for a newspaper to print an allegation like this without a byline.)

Regarding, KSTP, he said he didn't have any "proof" that Stan Hubbard, who he says is behind a "shadow group" that has sprung up (Tom Scheck had this downstream on Polinaut) to run anti-Hatch ads -- and who owns KSTP -- personally orchestrated the E-85 story and its aftermath in order to ruin Hatch's campaign. But he told the reporters, "you know all the stories about KSTP that are out there."

Answering Eric Eskola's question about his temperament and the fact everyone's been waiting for him to blow, Hatch said "I am who I am."

You can find his interview with Kerri Miller here.

Update: Young Mr. Scheck sends along audio of Stan Hubbard at KSTP. Here. And here's the audio from Mike Hatch's gaggle with reporters in the MPR lobby earlier today.
