DCCC cancels first week of ad buy for Wetterling, DSCC cancels two weeks of ad time for Klobuchar

The public file at WCCO-TV and KARE-11 says the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has canceled the first week of their ad buy on behalf of Patty Wetterling. The DCCC canceled the ad buy before the scandal involving former Florida Congressman Mark Foley. The DCCC still has ad time scheduled for the three weeks before the election. As you know, the NRCC is currently running ads on behalf of Republican Michele Bachmann. Wetterling, Bachmann and Independence Party member John Binkowski are running for Congress in Minnesota's 6th Congressional District.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has canceled two weeks of ad time on behalf of Amy Klobuchar. They still have time scheduled for the last two weeks of the campaign. The National Republican Senatorial Committee is not scheduled to run tv ads on behalf of Republican Mark Kennedy at this time.

The people who voted for Foley are now soul-searching, I hope God gives you the light to see the right as He meant it to be. Foley, and other
republicans were taught by their spin-maesters to frame their words, and phrases. These words then are internalized by the voters as being in harmony in their mind's eye. Foley, and his fellow republicans used words, and phrases such as,"...values, integrity, creditability, honor, and the American way." In a way it's like the song,"Give up you fool Lola gets what Lola wants." This technique of framing produces a potion of words that enters your ears, and puts you, the voter in a hypnotic trans. Now they want to kill the messenger; what about the victim! This was a betrayal of trust at the highest level. You didn't vote for a pedophile. You voted for a congressman to do the people's business. You didn't send them to do the bidding for K-Street. Lincoln didn't say that it was a government of the lobbyists, for the lobbyists, and by the lobbyists. Lincoln, the Founding Father of the Repubplican party is today turning in his grave. In fact, you sent Foley in the hope that he would evole, and grow to become a Lincoln, and/or a Kennedy; but since they don't like intellectuals they were assassinated. In fact the pages should not be under the supervision of the House, or the Senate. They should be under people of high calibre, and impeccable character, such as the widows of 911; and/or the Chairpersons of the 911 Commission, viz: Kean, Hamilton, and/or former great Presidents,Viz: Bush 41,and/or Ford.

I'm a little suprised that the DCCC cancelled ads for Wetterling. It seems like she's within striking distance of Bachmann; letting up now is an odd strategy.

To be clear, the DCCC canceled the first week of the ad buy before the Foley scandal. DCCC folks never comment on campaign strategy but they probably thought other races were more competitive so they moved some money around (which they do all of the time). I'd be surprised if they cancel the ads for next week now that the Foley scandal has given Wetterling national attention.
