The latest Wall Street Journal poll has DFLer Amy Klobuchar leading Republican Mark Kennedy. The poll, taken between August 29th and September 5th, has Klobuchar polling at 49.4% and Kennedy polling at 40.1%. There’s a margin of error of +/- 4.1 percentage points. Zogby writes that this is “Klobuchar’s biggest lead in the polling project this year.”

DFLer Mike Hatch also leads Republican incumbent Tim Pawlenty but at a much smaller margin. Hatch is polling at 42.2% to Pawlenty’s 40.5% which is well within the margin of error of +/-4.1 percentage points. Zogby writes that Hatch has edged ahead of Pawlenty in the last two polls. Independence Party candidate Peter Hutchinson polls under 15% in match-ups featuring Hatch and Pawlenty, Pawlenty and Lourey and Pawlenty and Steve Kelley (who is not running for governor anymore but is running for attorney general).

So a summary of the most recent round of polling would be Zogby & Gallup showing a slight lead (within the margin of error) for Mike Hatch; and Rasmussen and SurveyUSA showing bigger leads (outside the margin of error) for Governor Pawlenty. Something for everyone! :-)
