Do you two talk?

Odd. Both major candidates in the Senate race have started an online fund drive with the same goal and the same deadline. The Klobuchar star is more than half-filled even though the drive is not yet half-pledged.

The Sept. 30 date is the end of the quarter right before the election. Big War Chests are us.

Right, but...what is the significance of the end of the quarter other than the need to file an FEC report?

Or is it to just be able to put out a press release that says "we outraised our competition." Those releases, by the way, always make me laugh since at the same time the candidates have furrowed brows and serious tones when discussing how much money it takes to get elected, as if they think there should be another way.

It's the last quarter, so it's the last bit of planning money. you have to buy advertising, etc, early, so it has to be bought in advance.

but yes, the press release helps, too...

There are some other folks who don't seem to talk, either...
