The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that GOP Congressman Gil Gutknecht can stay on the ballot. You can read the brief decision here. It was a quick decision since oral arguments were heard this morning.

Unlike Mr. Gutknecht, during the filing period, I collected enough signatures to appear on the ballot. I also have a one sentence opinion on this case.
"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
I fail to understand how my privileges and immunities are not abridged, when I am held to one set of nominating requirements and Mr. Gutknecht was held to another which were less strict. I fail to understand how the MNFCPA provides equal protection.
But then, I can understand how the Jusice, a few months prior to the first partisan judicial election in our state, would want to protect the immunities and privileges of billionaire-funded party leaders who are financing judicial election camapgins.
