I hate out-of-office autoreplies, but ...

I'm going to be doing some writing on my own for the next few months. It won't be about politics and it won't be here. It's just little slice-of-life stuff to keep the arthritis from the fingers. If you're interested in adding it to your RSS reader, go to Stirrings from the Empty Nest.

Enjoy your time off. Planning on spending some time in the garage doing some wiring and/or riveting?

Oddly enough, I do plan on doing a little airplane work, though probably not as much as you would expect. I put on the big RV builders BBQ at Oshkosh each year and I'll be doing that for a week later this month, then I want to drive back to New England, but I'm thinking of taking U.S. 20 all the way so I can stop in interesting and hopefully meet interesting people.

The finishing kit for the plane arrived a few weeks ago, but I haven't quite finished up some fuselage/cockpit work. Got the fuel pump put in, though. No wiring yet, probably not 'til winter.

I'm going a little slower now because of the medical woes (vertigo, mostly). Also the high interest rates have flummoxed my plans to use a loan to buy the engine.

And now that son #2 has moved out, I have to paint the bright red-and-blue (Cleveland Indians colors) room into something a little more appropriate for the office my wife wants it to be.

You know, I don't think I'm going to have enough time.
