Children's Art Show
Want to see some talented children's art? On June 1 through July 21, the Grand Center for Arts and Culture Children's Art Showwill be exhibiting artwork done by children up to 12 years of age. Bring your family members and your friends. It might inspire you, your friends or your kids to create your own works of art!

The opening reception will be on June 1, Friday from 5:30-7:30 PM.
The art will be exhibited at the historic Kiesling House, which was built in 1861 and is one of the most significant buildings in New Ulm. It is the only wood frame building that survived the United States- Dakota War of 1862.

Works for Words: Chris Koza
From poetic love lines to gibberish words, Minneapolis singer and songwriter, Chris Koza will be performing his work on June 8th, 2012 from 8:00-10:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Theatre.

Since 2004, Koza has been recording, releasing albums and touring through many of the United States. In the Twin Cities, he is mostly a solo artist, but partcipates in ensemble shows. His band Rogue Valley recently finished their four- album "Seasons" project, which includes music for all four seasons. "His song-writing carries a strong emphasis on lyrical and poetic elements, with style and textures rooted in folk and americana traditions" (Koza). Koza has been influenced by many great pop music stars such as Bob Dylan and The Beatles.

At the Fitzgerald Theatre, Koza will explore the meanings of song lyrics and importance of words in pop, rock and folk songs. The doors will open at 7:30, so feel free to come in early. Tickets are $25 while MPR members receive a $2 discount. Call in and purchase your tickets at 651-290-1200.
