Help the Fitzgerald Theater win the Partners in Preservation funding!

The wonderful Fitzgerald Theater is a finalist for a historic preservation grant from Partners in Preservation from American Express. Partners in Preservation is taking popular votes on Facebook. What does that mean? Two things:

The popular vote winner will get more than $100,000 in funding. And you can help.

If the Fitz wins they'll put the money towards restoring and repainting the plaster ceiling - which is rather ornate, check it the next time you're there - as well as the trim in the lobby and theater. The balcony railings would get a repair and they'll update directional signage.

How to vote:

• "Like" the page, if you haven't already, and ok/authorize your account.

• Find Fitzgerald Theater in the list of sites. Click on the vote button. The site will ask you to confirm your vote!

• Cast your vote for us! (and feel free to share with your Facebook friends...)

• Repeat tomorrow! You can vote every day through October 12, 2011.
