MPR's Euan Kerr interviewed Jane Kirkpatrick about her most recent novel, which is based on her grandmother's life in 1907 Winona, Minnesota. The point that stood out for me was Kirkpatrick's description of depicting a real person in a novel, and how it can stick with us... or even project onto parts of ourselves.
We all have real 'characters' in our lives. Do you have a friend or relation who could inspire a novel? Share who that is and why, and maybe we can capture a picture of someone else that may reflect who we are.
