A pioneer in the world of HIV and AIDS research discusses how our understanding of the illness has changed and his work on prevention and treatment around the world.

GUEST: Arthur Ammann (MD) is president of Global Strategies for HIV Prevention and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.

You now have Saturday plans: Street dance and meatloaf supper

Everyone is invited! A Prairie Home Companion kicks off their season with a street dance and meatloaf supper this Saturday. Information:

The annual Street Dance and Meatloaf Supper will take place Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 5-10 pm on Exchange Street in front of the Fitzgerald Theater. Come at 5:00 p.m. grab a seat on the street and listen to the live broadcast. A $5.00 meatloaf supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. Garrison and the rest of the gang will be out around 7 p.m. to sing, dance and entertain until about 10:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Show up, enjoy a real mainstreet dinner, and kick up your heels a bit. With contests like "Best Loon Call, Most Beautiful Baby, Seed Identification, Sweetest Singer (12 & under), and Best Dancer" it should be a lot of fun.
