Word for Word: Who Speaks for Islam?
Posted at 8:26 PM on July 13, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler
This week's Word for Word program and online discussion centers around the question:
Who should speak for Islam? Who should be responsible for reforming or reinterpreting the Koran? Is Irshad Manji right to suggest Muslims seek out new interpretations of the Koran? Do you agree with Dalia Mogahed's definition of "a religion of peace"? What will it take for mainstream America to view Islam as a religion of peace?
