A pile of politics

Posted at 8:07 AM on June 9, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler

Let's imagine you left the grid for the weekend. Now let's sort through some of the political news you missed:

The DFL endorsed Al Franken for U.S. Senate. MPR's Mark Zdechlik reports that both DFLers and Republicans agree Franken is a great choice. The online discussion in our Minnesota Politics group demonstrates varied points of view.

According to Tom Scheck on Polinaut, Gov. Pawlenty finds the VP slot would be "difficult to turn down." Meanwhile, Bob Collins outlines the vice presidential two-step on News Cut.

Clinton suspends campaign, endorses Obama. If you could have seen the look on Bill's face! Actually, you can on News Cut, and you can post your comments on the analysis.

Gather.com contributor Chris W. wrote about his reaction to the news headline warning of $4.25 a gallon gas:

"[...] For most of us, we get a trapped feeling. We have built our entire lives around cheap gasoline, and when that goes away, our entire lives are messy. There has been a surge in "staycations" this summer, but it goes beyond that now. People are looking at ways to use less gas in their daily lives, not just that yearly trip to Florida."

Join the discussion to talk about what changes you'll make - if any - and see how other people are reacting.
