Should the NTSB hold a public hearing on the bridge collapse?

Posted at 8:30 AM on March 19, 2008 by Julia Schrenkler

MPR's Sea Stachura reports the NTSB is divided over public hearing on I-35W bridge collapse:

"Rep. Jim Oberstar, D-Minn., says the National Transportation Safety Board's decision not to hold a public hearing on the 35W bridge collapse is a "major mistake." The board has voted against holding a public hearing into the cause of the collapse, over the objections of two of its board members. Oberstar will ask the board's chairman to reconsider its decision."
