Midmorning: Climber Ed Viesturs and actor Cherry Jones

Mountain climber Ed Viesturs' motto is "Getting to the top is optional. Getting down is mandatory." Viesturs is Kerri Miller's guest at 9 a.m.. He has climbed 14 of the world's tallest peaks without oxygen. But he says the competition has cost others their lives. Viesturs is the author, with David Roberts, of No Shortcuts to the Top: Climbing the World's 14 Highest Peaks."

One of the highest-regarded actresses on Broadway is touring in a role that brought her glowing reviews in New York. At 10 a.m., Cherry Jones talks with Kerri about her work on stage and film. Jones stars in Doubt at the State Theatre. She reprises the role of Sister Aloysius, for which she was awarded a Tony award in 2005.
