Fantasy Legislature: A game for your inner wonk
Posted at 5:26 PM on December 21, 2006 by Bill Wareham
Online editor Bob Collins is one of those guys who watches C-SPAN in his spare time, so it's no surprise he came up with the idea of a Fantasy Legislature game, modeled after the ever-popular fantasy sports leagues.
You draft a team of lawmakers, get points for bill introductions and subsequent action on introduced legislation. (Hint: Avoid drafting lawmakers whose legislation is prone to ending up in omnibus bills.) There are points awarded for certain floor speeches and more. All the rules are here, and you can also sign up via the link on that page.
This just may be the oddest thing we try this year. And who wouldn't want to be part of that?
