On Morning Edition: The 1st District race, harvest time and Jason Moran's inspiration
Posted at 6:30 PM on October 3, 2006 by Bill Wareham
On Wednesday's Morning Edition, Sea Stachura will have a look at the 1st District congressional race, where DFL newcomer Tim Walz is challenging Republican Gil Gutknecht, who has held the seat for 12 years. It may be Gutknecht's toughest race yet.
Remember the summer drought? It looks like it may not have taken as big a toll on crops as was feared back during that stretch of 90 degree days. Mark Steil will have a report on how the harvest is looking.
Jazz pianist Jason Moran's new CD Artist in Residence includes two tracks inspired by works at the Walker Art Center, where he was - yes, you've guessed it - an artist in residence in 2005. Karl Gehrke talked to Moran about the CD.
And the Minnesota Twins hope to come back from their Game 1 playoff defeat. William Wilcoxen will have a preview.
