Rodriguez verdict: Guilty

Posted at 12:28 PM on August 30, 2006 by Melanie Sommer

The jury in the Alfonso Rodriguez trial has returned a guilty verdict, after only a couple of hours of deliberations. The jury met for about an hour yesterday afternoon, and then started up again at 9 this morning. The verdict was announced right around noon.

Rodriguez has been found guilty of kidnapping leading to the death of Dru Sjodin, a 22-year-old college student, in November 2003.

More on the story throughout the afternoon, and a complete wrap-up will be on All Things Considered this evening.
