Crops, health care and Harry Davis on ATC

Posted at 1:51 PM on August 11, 2006 by Bill Wareham

It will be a year of have-and-have-not harvests in Minnesota, according to the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture's first estimate of corn and soybean crops. MPR's Mark Steil will have a report on All Things Considered.

Laura McCallum will have a story on the health care proposal released today by Independence Party gubernatorial candidate Peter Hutchinson. As Laura reported earlier this week, this is expected to be one of the top issues of the campaign.

And as Mike mentioned in an earlier post, longtime civil rights activist and civic leader Harry Davis has died. Lorna Benson is working on a remembrance.

All Things Considered host Tom Crann has been busy as well. He'll talk to Rudy Maxa about travel in the wake of new security rules, and to media commentator David Brauer about election coverage so far.
