Minneapolis-based videographer Alex Horner has convinced me that plans to go somewhere other than the Boundary Waters for summer vacation are not a good idea.
Although, perhaps an autumn visit is in order next time.
Horner takes a fall canoeing trip every year with his dad. Lucky for us, he's brought his camera along for some of those trips too.

Late season BWCA trips are great - no bugs & fewer humans. But the weather risks are higher. Paddling in a snow squall is exciting. Seeing your buddies' canoe swamp in a snow squall is terrifying.
