Chances are, most of us couldn't name Chris Stevens as the ambassador to Libya before he was killed overnight.
So here's an introduction to who he was. It was an introductory video for Libyans to understand who he is.
On the Tripoli embassy's Facebook page, Libyans are posting condolences...
Meanwhile, sources in Washington are reporting the U.S. is sending drones to the country as President Obama has promised "justice" for Stevens' death.

Drones are a poor answer for the situation.
Education campaigns about intolerance, and free speech might be a smarter more lasting solution.
How tragic that someone of the decency and integrity of Stevens lost his life while attempting to assist in bringing democracy to a country where the de facto State religion declares that it is a duty to kill those who say things that you feel insulted by.
This is the operational definition of intellectual FOLLY.
Are arabs genetically incapable of demoracy? Of course not.
Are nations in which the majority of the voting population is Muslim ever going to be democratic?

Turkey is also Democratic and 99% Muslim.

That said, Malaysia ranked 122nd in the World Press Freedom Index (out of 179) - surely a major factor in how "we" define "democracy",
The Muslim majority is only 60% - one of the lowest in the "Muslim" world, where the majority of majorities ( sorry ) are over 90%,
And the country was part of the British Commonwealth when it achieved "democracy", as opposed to under the auspices of US democracy-building attempts.
But all in all, well played.

jon - Good point re Turkey, which has a constitutional stipulation stating that any political party which strays from secularism can be banned.
I guess I could try to defend my position by stating that the few exceptions prove the rule, but I won't.

Some in Turkey have been trying to make it more of a theocracy in recent years.
I just have to say what a slime bag Mitch* Romney is for LYING again -- this time about this tragic event. Trying to turn it into a political thing. What a total slime!!
*Letterman dismissively calls him "Mitch" Romney. He is SO dismiss-able! Smarmy snake-oil salesman.
