When Republicans fight

Republicans have done such an effective job of voting and legislating as a bloc that it's unusual to see them carp at one another. But a presidential campaign will do that, despite Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment ("Never speak ill of another Republican.")

Today, Michele Bachmann's super-PAC rolled out this broadside against Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who's stolen much of her thunder since jumping into the presidential race.

We're not sure who the narrator is in the piece, but we're pretty sure he's faking the unrecognizable accent that's a cross between Wilfred Brimley and Tom Bodett.

An old joke in political analyst circles:

Question: What's the difference between a leftist and a cannibal?
Answer: A cannibal only eats his enemies.

Now with the Republicans letting nontraditional tea partiers into the tent, we're seeing some internecine squabbling.

Bon appetit.

Can't we have them both. Co-presidents for life!!

But seriously folks, Obama, Perry, Bush, H. Clinton, Bachmann, B. Clinton, Pelosi and Boehner all step out of a BMW Mini and walk into a bar with big shoes and funny wigs and the bartender says "Hey, we don't serve clones here"

A joke writer I ain't, but I am able to see through the BS and realize that the political class cast of characters is more interchangeable than the Twins lineup.

Matt- That's pretty good.

Yea, they're almost all Machiavellian narcissists, and anybody who wants the job shouldn't be allowed to have it. And in the end, they aren't the real deciders anyway.

That's why I almost always vote with my heart for somebody who I believe is telling the truth - unless the lesser of two evils appears to be significantly less evil.

Mr. Obama is a type of politician unto himself. Too bad he can't decide who he is.

I disagree. These people -- and most current federal office holders -- are definitely NOT interchangable. They may have some similarities, and I detest some of the things they all do, but I wouldn't have to think for even a minute if faced with a choice between one of these Democrats and one of the Republicans.

" wouldn't have to think for even a minute if faced with a choice between one of these Democrats and one of the Republicans."

Both parties count on you not thinking when you decide between those two options ;-)
