While there seems to be a general sense of appreciation that the government and government services will be back to full swing, the deal still stings for some.

I sacrificed so a rich person didn't have to, and all I got was this lousy property tax increase. #mnleg #mnshutdownless than a minute ago via HootSuite Favorite Retweet Reply

Recriminations and finger pointing resume.

I, a middle class State Employee, will be out about $1000 due to the Shutdown. If they would have just taxed the richest 2%, those people would have been out about $700 per family, if I remember correctly. Doesn't seem fair.

But I will say that I'm beyond thrilled to be going back tomorrow. I really need to have some structure and good air conditioning in my life. And a paycheck. And a purpose.

I think we should tax the Lobbists. For every dollars spent, 25% tax.
That would raise about 2.5 million each year. This old report has 7.8 million spent, has to be up around 10 million now -> http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2008/06/25/lobbying/

Same with all levels of candidates and PAC's. Spend 10,000,000 on US Senate race Tax bill for 2.5 million.
:)

Let the new jobs flow! Now that the rich get to keep their 2% we should be flush with new jobs in no time! That's what this was all about, to let the job creators create jobs out of their tax savings. I can't wait watch the economy boom!

Yeah, let's keep asking for updates on all the new jobs that are going to be created now. Every time I get a chance, I will ask Koch, Zellers, et. al. to show us the evidence. Like when they're on Midday or Midmorning. ALthough, I'll have to disguise my question when I talk with the call screeners. MPR doesn't like it when we demand truth from Republicans.

And speaking of which, why were there just Republicans on Midday today? Doesn't MPR think that Democrats have anything to say about this fiasco?

And let's not let them forget, either, that they DID raise taxes -- on mostly working-class and poor Minnesotans who rent their homes. That is written in the bills. Other property tax increases on everybody else will also result from Republicans' allegiance to the rich.
