A light at the end of the rail tunnel

2014, when light-rail makes its debut in Saint Paul, is still a long way away, but at least there was a whiff of the end of the disruption its construction has caused in the city's Lowertown neighborhood.

This afternoon, concrete is being poured, entombing the rails for the first time on 4th Street near Broadway.

It will take the rest of the year for all of the rail on 4th Street to be installed.
