Not everyone -- or at least, everything -- is particularly upset about the flooding in western Minnesota. These birds -- I'm not smart enough to know what they are, and not dumb enough to guess here -- enjoyed Lake UsedToBeABarleyField along US 75 in Kragnes, Minnesota, north of Moorhead, today.
The water has closed most east-west roads in the area, so people who live nearby are parking along the highway and wading into their neighborhoods.
That farmer should consider growing hemp.
Bob, I'm 99% sure that almost all of those birds are Swans. I've only ever seen that many in one place one other time in my life, during the fall migration. Truly an amazing sight.
Is that a railroad track running across the photo?
If it is I wanna know which side of the tracks those birds come from.
Must be trumpeter swans. Great pics. Big flock.
Not tundra swans? Get closer, Bob; see if there's a little yellow spot on their beaks.
Sure, Bob. You brought your hip-waders, didn't you? :o)
Thanks for the usual great coverage!

In the context of your comment I am thinking that these are a mix of two kinds of birds which give us "Long Neck Doves"
