Michele Bachmann says "she's in" the race for president, but she hasn't decided whether to announce she's running for president yet. CNN is reporting she'll form an exploratory committee.
But Bachmann told ABC News yesterday "she's in the conversation" to be sure President Obama doesn't serve a second term.
More interesting -- and less covered -- is her view on the war in Libya. She appears to be against it. "I think if you look strictly at the Constitution... the intention is that Congress would be the one to make the decision about whether or not wars are declared."

Ummm...I May be wrong... but wasn't World War II the last Congressionally declared war?
She's a woman, So she is bound to at least get the Palin treatment...
Yep, softballs are pretty much what passes for "journalism" these days.
Katie Couric did very well with Sarah Palin. Let's hope Couric gets a crack at Crazy Shelly.

The issue, while interesting, also requires the American people to presume that when a congressperson says they want to be consulted before going to war, they really DO.
They don't.
If they did, they would have sat aside the hours-long debate over funding public radio last week and taken up a resolution on the subject. They would have canceled their 10-day recess, and stayed in Washington knowing full well that this was about to hit the fan.
According to Marketplace, the Pentagon is going to have to ask for at least $1 billion at some point in the next few weeks to fight this thing. Then we'll see who's really interested in taking a stand on this question.
I’m sure that Bachmann, deep down, is happy for war – she is a Republican after all.
She says she’s against it because a Democrat is President. War helps big business and that is who the Republicans represent.
I’m happy she’s running. That’ll mean Obama will have four more years to try and fix the mess Bush created.
Here is an interesting article on the legality of the Libya situation.
If the US "turns over" responsibility for the no fly zone to France and other European allies within 60 days, it should be "legal" under the War Powers Resolution. I think what some in Congress fear is that this action will succeed and Obama will get credit for "liberating" the Libyan people from the "oppressive" rule of a dictator. Which of course someone like Rep. Bachmann wouldn't be able to stomach.

The bar is pretty low: at least 35 years old & a natural born citizen. So, yeah, they'll let just about anyone run for president these days.

Look how low the bar is for governor in WI. Apparently a college degree is optional when it comes to running a state.
Can we expect a PoliGraph meltdown? It's difficult to believe that someone as factually challenged as Michelle navigate the presidential steeplechase.

I dislike what Walker is doing and I am a grad student (so I have nothing against college degrees) but I don't see why one should be required for office.
Sorry Bob, I just realized that last comment wasn't really relevant to the post.
I think Bachmann will have more luck running for president than she would running for Senate in MN. I don't think she will have enough luck to get nominated, but I really don't think she would have a chance at winning statewide in Minnesota.
