Outside the Bachmann campaign

In a series of promos last week, CNN promised that its look at the Michele Bachmann campaign would be "beyond the sound bites," and would be "inside the campaign."

When the product was delivered yesterday, it looked very much like CNN was left outside, with a quick sound bite.

It's not just CNN being shut out. I have lived in the 6th District for many years, and have never seen my representative at a public event.

See seems to keep a pretty low profile, in the 6th, at least.

She seems to keep a pretty low profile, rather.

Maybe I should read Bob's post on spelling...

Not much new information in the CNN piece. Her strategy is to say that her opponent will raise taxes. I haven't heard her say anything of substance about what she's going to do to create positive change. Bachmann (and many other Republicans) just keep repeating how their opposition's solution is to tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend. It must be the adage that if you repeat something often enough, it becomes the truth. Or not.

You harp on your opponents "tax and spend" philosophy when your party had a "borrow and spend" philosophy when they were in charge. Also House Republicans can't really run on the platform of "if we take control of the House we will spend the next 2 years investigating the White House for alleged wrongdoing because we don't like the idea of a Democrat in the White House." (See Republican playbook 1995-2000 for examples.)
